In the fall of 2017, Kasey and Nick met at Butler University at a new student event held in the hallway of their freshman dorm. Nick lived across the hall from Kasey and one day was humming a song in the hallway. Kasey asked, “Nick why are you humming "Crush " by David Archuleta?”. Nick then replied, “I have been trying to think of the name of that song for months!” After that, a friendship started.

On September 28, 2017, Nick asked Kasey to go to dinner at Scotty’s Dawghouse on Butler’s campus. The next few months were filled with Nick cheering on Kasey at lacrosse games, exploring Indianapolis, and attending Butler Basketball games together (Go Dawgs!). In October, Kasey ended up on “Team Morale” for Butler University’s Dance Marathon. Funny enough, Nick also ended up on “Team Morale” which allowed us to learn dances together for Butler Dance Marathon. Years later, Nick explained how he saw my rankings of committees for Butler Dance Marathon and put his rankings in the same order so he could be on the same committee as me.

Finally, on December 6th 2017, after a night of “Christmas at the Zoo”, Nick officially asked Kasey to be his girlfriend in the parking garage elevator.

The next few years at Butler were filled with many fraternity/sorority events, being student orientation coordinators, mini golf dates, and endless trips to Chick-Fil-A.

In August of 2020, Nick and Kasey adopted their pride and joy, Willow Girl.

After a fun 4 years, Nick and Kasey graduated from Butler University in May of 2021.

Following graduation, with the support from Nick, Kasey moved to Gainesville to pursue her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, while Nick was staying in Indianapolis to obtain his Masters in Accounting from Butler University. The next two years were filled with several trips in between Florida (Go Gators!) and Indianapolis.

In May of 2023, Nick and Kasey moved to New Jersey so Kasey could pursue a fellowship opportunity. Prior to the big move, Kasey and Nick planned to go on a road trip to visit Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah. While in Colorado, Nick secretly planned a proposal. Before dinner, Nick suggested we go on a walk at Cheesman Park. Kasey did not ease Nick's nerves because at the park Kasey was convinced a man was following them taking photos. It turns out, this was the photographer Nick hired to capture the moment he proposed. On June 8th, 2022, Kasey said YES!!!! (well really she said, "omg you are doing it now!?!? YES!).

All of these events, our friends and our families have led us to today, planning a wedding to celebrate a couple of 18 year olds who fell in love.
